With the new Aircraft Mover AM500-XL, a modified version of the well-proven AM500, GHH Fahrzeuge supplements its program of towbarless aircraft towing tractors for wide bodied aircraft. Two vehicles of this model will be delivered in the first quarter of 2008 to TCR / KLM at Schiphol airport. The range of aircraft of the AM500-XL comprises the standard range of the AM500 and additionally the Airbus model A380.

The functional system for a safe support and transport of the aircraft as well as the spacious, liftable driver’s cab with integrated suspension are only some of the technical features of the AM500-XL. The driver has at his availability optimal work and safety conditions. GHH Fahrzeuge consequently applies the latest “State of Art" for the actuation of the hydraulic systems for the kinematics, the drive, the brakes and the steering, while at the same time using standard components. A vehicle data system combined with diagnosis software for the company and workshop as well as for the customer service simplifies the vehicle maintenance and serves as basis for measures taken to increase personal availability. The use of standard truck tires results in high mileage and thereby a significant contribution to the efficiency of the entire system is given.
