The GHH Fahrzeuge product range includes not only mining vehicles but also four aircraft movers for all common commercial aircraft.

In December 2007, GHH Fahrzeuge signed a partnership agreement with a Chinese partner which represents a significant step in the company’s worldwide positioning strategy for its towbarless aircraft movers.

Weihai Guangtai Airport Equipment Co., Ltd. is an internationally expanding company specialising in the development and production of airport technology. They sell their products in countries like North and South Korea, Laos, the Philippines, Singapore and Hong Kong, where the Weihai Guangtai vehicles are used by airports and service providers. Weihai Guangtai employs some 600 people, including 130 engineers. The company site with its large production halls has a surface area of 65,000 m². The capacity of the production area is expected to double in the next few years. The product range varies from passenger stairs and mobile luggage conveyor belts to tankers, de-icing vehicles, power and air-conditioning sets, and towbar aircraft movers. A total of 22 vehicle types in 80 variants are produced. To round out its product line, Weihai Guangtai needed a cooperation partner.

Upon completion of the licence negotiations GHH Fahrzeuge will provide documents and training for the production of towbarless aircraft movers for the Chinese market, starting with the AM210 type. The first vehicle will be produced this year in Gelsenkirchen with the participation of Chinese engineers. Production in China will begin already next year, to be followed by other types which will all prove their quality at East Asian airports. (ikn)
