Dump Trucks for GTS, Teutschenthal mine |
Today, the former Teutschenthal potash mine is one of the largest sites for industrial residues and contaminants. Potash mining was discontinued in 1982. Backfilling with industrial residues, e.g. filter ashes, was begun in 1994. The residues are transported into the underground via the shaft, and from there conveyed by dump trucks to the final storage site.
For this, two GHH dump trucks MK-A25.3 were purchased, with which the mine openings located near the shaft were filled. Backfilling of the more remote mines (up to 8 km of plain road) was begun in 2005, for which two newer generation GHH dump trucks MK-A30.1 were purchased in 2006 and 2008. These state-of-the-art dump trucks feature Posi-Stop axles and are equipped, like the previous ones, with air conditioning and protective ventilation systems.
